Financing options

When considering purchasing a home, the first thought that often arises is, “How will I manage the finances?” While the idea of buying a home can seem overwhelming, gaining a clear understanding of your financial options can make the process much more manageable and less stressful.

Conventional loan

These are not insured by the federal government and typically require a higher credit score and a down payment of at least 3-5%.

FHA Loans

Available to veterans, active-duty service members, and certain members of the National Guard and Reserves. These loans are backed by the Department of Veterans
Affairs and often require no down payment.

VA Loans

Available to veterans, active-duty service members, and certain members of the National Guard and Reserves. These loans are backed by the Department of Veterans
Affairs and often require no down payment.

USDA Loans

Designed for rural home buyers, these loans are backed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and offer low interest rates and no down payment for eligible applicants.

State and Local Programs

There are many state programs that provide down payment assistance, grants and low interest rate loans to help first time home buyers purchase a home.
