One of our favorite places in Florida is Rainbow River in Dunnellon, about 1.5 hours from Orlando. The water is crystal clear, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.
The river is split into different sections, with some areas just for kayaking and paddleboarding—these spots are the most stunning. The swimming areas are also great, though the water isn’t as deep or as clear. There’s not as much wildlife in these sections, but we still highly recommend taking a dip! The water is almost always a perfect temperature and you can even dive down to check out rocks and shells at the bottom of the river.
The entire river is surrounded by various trees and plants, and there’s plenty to do, including hiking, swimming, kayaking, and tubing. The nature trails are also worth exploring—you’ll stay dry while spotting some amazing wildlife!
The park is open from 11 AM to 5 PM, so if you’re looking for a warm getaway from Colorado, Rainbow River Springs is definitely worth a visit!
